Baking block

Hello Everyone! Sorry for my lack of posts lately. I have been baking, but so far nothing has really turned out all that great. I made some cherry cupcakes on a trial run that were killer good, but have been unable to recreate them. I have no idea why, and I must admit I was getting pretty frustrated. So I have decided to come back to those in a few days and try some different recipes. Tonight I made a cake from this recipe and was pretty disappointed. The taste was good, but the texture was all wrong. It was too heavy and kind of dry. I usually have better results when I come up with my own recipes so from now on I think that’s what I’ll stick to doing. So I think I will try something new tomorrow night or the next and see what I can come up with. All this baking is making me gain weight. Not good, but I will just have to keep that in mind and get more exercise. So I will be back in a few days with pictures and a wonderful new recipe(I hope).

Trial Run

So tonight I tried making vegan sugar cookies. I have never made a sugar cookie in my life so it was a first, and also a success! They were delicious! Tonight I was just test driving my made up recipe, so no pictures or recipe yet. Plus, I cooked the second batch too long, and once they cooled they were so hard you could have busted out a car window with one of them. I didn’t hear my timer go off. Lesson learned though. The first batch were perfect though. Nice and soft. Which is how I like my sugar cookies.  I am going to make them again tomorrow night and will post pictures and the recipe when I’m done. Be excited! They are really good:-)

Site Overhaul and Vegan baking

Hello World,

My name is Rainbow and I love to bake. Like seriously, I may have an addiction. It’s not just baking either. Designing and decorating is a passion as well.  All that is fine, but I really want to shake vegan baking up a bit. This is the beginning of a long adventure. Many recipes will be tried, and I’m sure many will fail. There are some really tasty vegan baked goods out there already, but I am bound and determined to make them tastier.  It’s going t be fantastic! Or a giant failure… Either way I’m bringing everyone who wants to come along for the ride.  I will be posting non vegan things occasionally, but that really isn’t going to be my main focus. I will always specify vegan or non, and I’ll be posting plenty of pictures as well. Let the baking begin!
